The Hotel De La Cité is owned by the Orient-Express hotel group and reopened in 1998 after extensive refurbishment. The original beamed ceilings, stained glass windows, wood panelling and floral tapestries have been retained and the hotel is situated in its own gardens with an outdoor summer swimming pool.
Accommodation
There are 64 beautifully decorated bedrooms, a library and two excellent restaurants, La Barbacane (open until mid October for dinner only - clients staying 7 nights or more receive a complimentary dinner) is a renowned Michelin-starred restaurant with an extensive wine cellar. There is also a less formal brasserie, Chez Saskia, which is open all year. Highly recommended for those looking for a relaxing stay in a unique and extremely picturesque setting. Buffet breakfast. Special prices for suites and junior suites, available on request. Hotel closed 24 January – 11 March.
